Adhyāya 122 — Śruta-vṛtta-yukta Brāhmaṇa and the Ethics of Dāna
Maitreya–Vyāsa Saṃvāda
सम्भूत: क्षत्रियकुले प्रसादादमितौजस:
sambhūtaḥ kṣatriyakule prasādād amitaujasaḥ | śvapākaśūdravaiśyānāṃ kṣatriyāṇāṃ ca yoniṣu ||
ویاس نے کہا—اسے عظیم الشان اور بے پایاں قوت والے مہاتما کے فضل سے کشتریہ خاندان میں جنم ملا۔ پھر وہ باری باری شواپاک، شودر، ویشیہ اور کشتریہ—ان یونیوں میں پیدا ہوتا رہا۔ بہت سی یونیوں میں بھٹکنے کے بعد، آخرکار روشن ضمیر ویاس کی عنایت سے وہ پھر کشتریہ خاندان میں پیدا ہوا اور اُن مہارشیوں کے درشن کے لیے اُن کے پاس گیا۔
