Educational Q&A

Sacred knowledge (the Veda with its six auxiliaries) is portrayed as a grace that can be innately bestowed, and its proper purpose is the welfare and cherished aims of a righteous lineage—learning is for dharma and beneficence, not vanity.

Vasiṣṭha describes a miraculous event: while a particular child is still in the womb, the complete Vedic knowledge along with the Vedāṅgas ‘enters’ him, motivated by a benevolent intention toward the Bhṛgu family line.
