तत्‌ क्षुधार्तर्निरासहारै: शवभूतैस्तथा नरैः । अभवत्‌ प्रेतराजस्य पुरं प्रेतेरिवावृतम्‌

Transliteration

tat kṣudhārtair nirāhāraiḥ śavabhūtaiḥ tathā naraiḥ | abhavat pretarājasya puraṃ preter ivāvṛtam ||

Translation

تب وہ شہر بھوک سے تڑپتے، بے خوراک اور لاشوں کی مانند ہو چکے انسانوں سے بھر گیا۔ ایسے جیتے جاگتے ڈھانچوں سے اٹا ہوا وہ نگر، گویا بھوتوں سے گھرا ہوا، پرَیت راج یم کے شہر کی طرح دکھائی دینے لگا۔
