अहो वो धिग्‌ बल क्षात्रं धिगेतां व: कृतास्त्राताम्‌ । भरतस्यान्वये जाता ये वीटां नाधिगच्छत,“अहो! तुमलोगोंके क्षत्रिययलको धिक्कार है और तुमलोगोंकी इस अस्त्र-विद्या- विषयक निपुणताको भी धिक्‍कार है; क्योंकि तुमलोग भरतवंशमें जन्म लेकर भी कुएँमें गिरी हुई गुल्लीको नहीं निकाल पाते

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | aho vo dhig bala kṣātraṃ dhig etāṃ vaḥ kṛtāstratām | bharatasyānvaye jātā ye vīṭāṃ nādhigacchata ||

“ہائے! تمہارے کشتریہ بل پر لعنت، اور ہتھیاروں کی مہارت پر بھی لعنت؛ کہ تم بھرت کے ونش میں جنم لے کر بھی کنویں میں گری ہوئی ایک چھوٹی سی گولی تک نہیں نکال سکتے۔”
