वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dāna and atithi-satkāra: a righteous patron supports the learned and the ritual order through food, wealth, and land-gifts, expressing gratitude, sustaining dharma, and demonstrating responsible leadership.
The narrator describes a grand act of hospitality and patronage: the Kurus and many eminent brāhmaṇas are fed, after which the brāhmaṇas receive lavish gifts—jewels and grants of fine villages.
