This line is a colophon rather than a didactic verse: it teaches how the Mahābhārata frames ethical history through origins and lineage. By carefully marking births and genealogies, the text prepares the reader to understand later duties (dharma), loyalties, and conflicts as rooted in family ties and inherited obligations.
The chapter ends. The colophon states that this is the 115th chapter within the Ādi Parva’s Sambhava Parva, and that its topic is the birth/origin of Duḥśalā, thereby closing that narrative segment and indexing it within the larger epic.
