Educational Q&A

The verse frames ethical instruction as arising from ānṛśaṁsya—compassion and non-cruelty—and emphasizes that hearing wise counsel should lead to responsible action (kartum arhasi).

Vaiśampāyana addresses the wife of the younger brother Kratu, praising her as ‘like a daughter of the gods,’ and introduces compassionate advice, urging her to listen and then do what is proper.
