śaileśvaramiti khyātaṃ dṛśyatāmiha cādarāt dṛṣṭvaitanmanujo devi na durgatimato vrajet
Suta Goswami (narrating a Śaiva-tīrtha/Śiva-liṅga māhātmya within the Linga Purana)
The verse teaches that mere darśana of the famed Śaileśvara-liṅga, done with ādarā (reverent intent), protects the paśu (individual soul) from durgati—harmful karmic destinations—highlighting the salvific power of Śiva-liṅga darśana.
Śiva is implied as Pati—the sovereign Lord who can redirect destiny itself; His presence as Śaileśvara grants grace (anugraha) that counters pāśa (bondage) and prevents the soul’s fall into lower states.
The practice emphasized is tīrtha-yātrā and liṅga-darśana performed with reverence; in a Pāśupata sense, it supports inner purification and loosening of karmic bonds through devotion-centered discipline.
