Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
It prescribes a Śrāvaṇa-month dāna connected to Śiva-bhakti: offering a tilaparvata (sesame heap) with ritual honors (canopy, banner, cloth) and metals, reinforcing Linga-pūjā through sacred gifting and reverence.
By naming Him Śarva, the verse points to Śiva as Pati—the sovereign receiver of offerings—who accepts devotion expressed through dāna, helping the pashu (bound soul) loosen pāśa (bondage) through dharmic, Śiva-centered action.
A pūjā-linked dāna-vidhi in Śrāvaṇa: ceremonially presenting sesame (tilā) along with honorific accessories and metals—an external discipline that supports inner Pāśupata orientation (śaraṇāgati to Pati).
