Suta Goswami (narrating a received hymn of praise within the Linga Purana context)
It establishes Shiva (Pati) as the single source of creation, sustenance, and dissolution, making Linga-puja a direct approach to the Supreme Governor who transcends sectarian divisions of Deva and Asura.
Shiva is praised as vidhātṛ (cosmic ordainer) and praśāstṛ (supreme ruler), the inner ‘eye’ guiding all beings; in Shaiva Siddhanta terms, He is Pati who regulates pasha (bondage) and grants grace for the uplift of pashu (the soul).
The practical takeaway is stuti and smarana (devotional recitation and remembrance) as an aṅga of Shiva-puja; it supports Pashupata-oriented discipline by centering awareness on Pati as the ultimate śāstra and inner guide.
