This verse functions as vamśa-varṇana (dynastic record), grounding the Purāṇic Shaiva narrative in a remembered lineage; it supports the broader Linga Purana framework where righteous kings and their lines become eligible patrons for Śiva-liṅga installation, pūjā, and dāna.
Indirectly: by listing succession without mythic embellishment, it reflects Śiva-tattva as the steady Pati (Lord) who remains unchanged while generations of paśus (embodied souls) arise and pass within saṁsāra under pāśa (bondage).
No specific pūjā-vidhi or Pāśupata-yoga limb is stated in this śloka; its role is genealogical continuity, often used in Purāṇas to contextualize later accounts of vrata, dīkṣā, liṅga-pratiṣṭhā, or royal Śaiva patronage.
