Adhyaya 61 — ग्रह-नक्षत्र-स्थाननिर्णयः
Cosmic Abodes of Luminaries and the Shaiva Order of Time
मुच्यते तेन दोषेण ततस्तद्ग्रहभक्तितः सर्वग्रहाणामेतेषाम् आदिरादित्य उच्यते
mucyate tena doṣeṇa tatastadgrahabhaktitaḥ sarvagrahāṇāmeteṣām ādirāditya ucyate
اسی سیّارے کی بھکتی سے انسان اس کے پیدا کردہ دَوش (نقص) سے نجات پاتا ہے۔ اس لیے ان سب گِرہوں میں آدِتیہ (سورج) کو اوّل و افضل کہا گیا ہے۔

It frames graha-doṣa as a karmic form of pāśa (bondage) affecting the paśu (soul), and prescribes bhakti as a purifying upāya; in Shaiva practice, such remedies are harmonized with Shiva-pūjā as devotion to Pati, the ultimate liberator.
Implicitly, it distinguishes secondary causes (grahas influencing embodied karma) from the higher liberation-principle: while devotion to grahas mitigates specific doṣas, final release from all pāśas belongs to Shiva-tattva (Pati), the supreme ground beyond planetary determinants.
Graha-bhakti as a remedial discipline (graha-śānti/upāsanā), especially honoring Āditya as chief among grahas—often paired in Shaiva households with daily japa, offering of arghya to the Sun, and Shiva-pūjā for comprehensive karmic pacification.
