Suta Goswami
It frames time (kāla)—seasons and the sun’s course—as a regulated divine system ultimately resting in Shiva as Pati; Linga worship aligns the devotee (paśu) with that higher order, loosening bondage (pāśa) caused by time-bound existence.
Though not naming him directly, it implies Shiva-tattva as the inner governor of the devatā-network: the Adityas and seasonal forces function as instruments, while the supreme Lord remains the unconditioned source and controller of cosmic rhythm.
Seasonal discipline is implied: observing Shiva-puja with awareness of kāla (proper timings, vrata, and daily solar rhythm) supports Pāśupata-oriented practice by training the paśu to transcend time’s compulsions through devotion and restraint.
