Adhyaya 4: अहोरात्र-युग-मन्वन्तर-कल्पमान तथा प्रलयान्ते सृष्ट्युपक्रमः
षष्टिश्चैव सहस्राणि संख्यातानि तु संख्यया दिव्यं वर्षसहस्रं तु प्राहुः संख्याविदो जनाः
ṣaṣṭiścaiva sahasrāṇi saṃkhyātāni tu saṃkhyayā divyaṃ varṣasahasraṃ tu prāhuḥ saṃkhyāvido janāḥ
گنتی کے پیمانے سے شمار کیے گئے ساٹھ ہزار (اکائیاں) کو ہی اہلِ حساب ایک ہزار دیویہ برس کہتے ہیں۔

Although the verse speaks in cosmological numbers, its Shaiva implication is that time and its calculations belong to prakṛtic order (a form of pasha), while Shiva-tattva remains the transcendent regulator and witness of all measures.
No specific rite is prescribed here; the takeaway for Pashupata-oriented sādhana is viveka—seeing kāla as a bond (pasha) and seeking refuge in Pati through japa, dhyāna, and Linga-upāsanā that aims at liberation beyond time.
