FAQs

By defining divine measures of time, the verse frames Shiva as Pati who governs kāla; Linga worship is thus oriented to the timeless Reality beyond changing cosmic cycles.

Although the verse speaks in cosmological numbers, its Shaiva implication is that time and its calculations belong to prakṛtic order (a form of pasha), while Shiva-tattva remains the transcendent regulator and witness of all measures.

No specific rite is prescribed here; the takeaway for Pashupata-oriented sādhana is viveka—seeing kāla as a bond (pasha) and seeking refuge in Pati through japa, dhyāna, and Linga-upāsanā that aims at liberation beyond time.
