Suta
It frames the teaching within a specific kalpa (Viśvarūpa), implying that Linga-tattva and Shiva’s salvific role recur across cosmic cycles, making Linga worship a timeless (kalpātīta) Shaiva anchor.
While Shiva is not named here, the verse sets the cosmological stage typical of the Linga Purana where Brahmā’s kalpas unfold under the supreme Pati’s (Shiva’s) overarching reality—Pati remaining constant as worlds change.
No specific puja-vidhi or Pāśupata-yoga limb is stated in this verse; it functions as an introductory marker for a kalpa-based teaching context in which later practices and doctrines are situated.
