FAQs

It implies that embodied motion is propelled by Vāyu/prāṇa (a cosmic force), while the Self is not described as the mover here—highlighting the classical distinction between the witnessing principle and the driven activity of embodied existence.

The verse points to prāṇa as the driver of embodied movement, aligning with prāṇāyāma and prāṇa-dhāraṇā themes: regulating the “wheel of wind” steadies the mind and reduces the compulsive onward-push of karmic momentum.

Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇa’s integrative theology: cosmic functions like prāṇa/Vāyu operate as a universal divine ordinance rather than a sectarian power, fitting the Kurma Purana’s Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis without naming either deity in this line.
