Dadhīci’s Supreme Charity and the Opening of Indra’s War with Vṛtrāsura
तथाभियाचितो देवैर्ऋषिराथर्वणो महान् । मोदमान उवाचेदं प्रहसन्निव भारत ॥ २ ॥
tathābhiyācito devair ṛṣir ātharvaṇo mahān modamāna uvācedaṁ prahasann iva bhārata
اے بھارت (پریکشت)، ربّ کے حکم کے مطابق دیوتا آتھروَن کے بیٹے عظیم رشی ددھیچی کے پاس گئے۔ وہ نہایت سخی تھے؛ جب ان سے اپنا جسم دان کرنے کی درخواست کی گئی تو انہوں نے فوراً کچھ حد تک رضامندی ظاہر کی۔ مگر دینی نصیحت سننے کی خاطر وہ مسکرائے اور گویا مزاحاً یوں بولے۔
