Prahlāda’s Prayers Pacify Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva
Prahlāda-stuti and the Lord’s Benediction Offer
श्रीनारद उवाच एवं प्रलोभ्यमानोऽपि वरैर्लोकप्रलोभनै: । एकान्तित्वाद् भगवति नैच्छत्तानसुरोत्तम: ॥ ५५ ॥
śrī-nārada uvāca evaṁ pralobhyamāno ’pi varair loka-pralobhanaiḥ ekāntitvād bhagavati naicchat tān asurottamaḥ
شری نارَد نے کہا: اگرچہ بھگوان نے دنیاوی لذتوں کے لالچ دینے والے ور عطا کر کے اسے راغب کیا، پھر بھی بھگوان میں یکسو بھکتی کے باعث اسوروں میں افضل پرہلاد نے اُن وروں کو قبول نہ کیا۔
Pure devotees like Prahlāda Mahārāja and Dhruva Mahārāja do not aspire for any material benefit at any stage of devotional service. When the Lord was present before Dhruva Mahārāja, Dhruva did not want to take any material benefit from the Lord: svāmin kṛtārtho ’smi varaṁ na yāce. As a pure devotee, he could not ask the Lord for any material benefit. In this regard, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu instructed us:
Because his devotion was ekānta—exclusive to Bhagavān—so he did not want even world-enchanting benedictions that could distract him from pure loving service.
It means one-pointed, exclusive dedication to the Supreme Lord—devotion that does not seek separate material gain, even if offered.
It teaches to keep devotion primary: accept what supports remembrance and service to God, and decline temptations—status, rewards, or privileges—that pull the mind away from sincere bhakti.
