Parīkṣit Confronts Kali; Dharma and Bhūmi Lament Kṛṣṇa’s Departure

tayor evaṁ kathayatoḥ pṛthivī-dharmayos tadā parīkṣin nāma rājarṣiḥ prāptaḥ prācīṁ sarasvatīm
جب زمین اور دین اس طرح گفتگو میں مشغول تھے، تبھی راجَرشی پریکشِت مشرق کی طرف بہنے والی سرسوتی ندی کے کنارے پہنچ گیا۔
Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the First Canto, Sixteenth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “How Parīkṣit Received the Age of Kali.”
He arrived at the eastern bank of the River Sarasvatī while Earth and Dharma were conversing (Bhagavatam 1.16.36).
The verse sets the sacred location for the encounter—Parīkṣit reaches Sarasvatī just as Earth and Dharma are discussing the decline of dharma in Kali-yuga.
It highlights timely intervention—like Parīkṣit arriving at the crucial moment—encouraging us to protect dharmic values when we see them being harmed.
