The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
śūro vidūrathād āsīd bhajamānas tu tat-sutaḥ śinis tasmāt svayam bhojo hṛdikas tat-suto mataḥ
This verse lists successive ancestors in the Yadu line—Śūra, Bhajamāna, Śini, Svayaṁbhoja, and Hṛdika—showing the dynastic succession connected with Kṛṣṇa’s broader family heritage.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks this verse to King Parīkṣit while narrating the dynasties of the Yadus and related royal lineages.
By studying the Lord’s dynastic history with faith, devotees strengthen sambandha (relationship) with Kṛṣṇa, appreciating how the Purāṇa preserves sacred lineage and inspires steady devotional hearing (śravaṇam).
