Paraśurāma Avenges Jamadagni; Restoration Through Sacrifice; Viśvāmitra’s Line and Devarāta (Śunaḥśepha)
śrī-śuka uvāca pitropaśikṣito rāmas tatheti kuru-nandana saṁvatsaraṁ tīrtha-yātrāṁ caritvāśramam āvrajat
This verse shows Paraśurāma undertaking a year-long pilgrimage, indicating tīrtha-yātrā as a purifying, dharmic practice that supports spiritual discipline and sanctity of life.
Śukadeva describes Paraśurāma as “instructed by his father,” emphasizing adherence to dharma—respecting paternal/guru guidance and carrying out prescribed spiritual duties.
Cultivate humility and follow sound guidance from authentic teachers; adopt periodic practices of purification—pilgrimage, retreats, or dedicated sādhana—to realign life with dharma and devotion.
