The Disappearance of the Yadu Dynasty and Lord Kṛṣṇa’s Departure
tatrābhiṣicya śucaya upoṣya su-samāhitāḥ devatāḥ pūjayiṣyāmaḥ snapanālepanārhaṇaiḥ
This verse emphasizes inner and outer preparation—bathing for purity, fasting, and steadying the mind—before worshiping the Deities with abhiṣeka (ceremonial bathing), fragrant anointing, and respectful offerings.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating these events to Mahārāja Parīkṣit in the Eleventh Canto.
Before any worship or spiritual practice, cultivate cleanliness, simplicity (such as light fasting or restraint), and mental focus; then offer worship with sincerity and appropriate items, prioritizing devotion over mere formality.
