The Deliverance of King Nṛga and the Warning Against Taking Brāhmaṇa Property
papraccha vidvān api tan-nidānaṁ janeṣu vikhyāpayituṁ mukundaḥ kas tvaṁ mahā-bhāga vareṇya-rūpo devottamaṁ tvāṁ gaṇayāmi nūnam
In this verse, Krishna asks despite knowing, to make the underlying cause publicly understood—His actions teach and reveal truth for the benefit of people.
Krishna honors the exalted nature and worshipful form of the person before Him, acknowledging divine stature while drawing out the narrative cause for the audience.
Even when you know the answer, asking respectfully can clarify issues for others, spread correct understanding, and maintain humility in communication.
