Kṛṣṇa Visits Trivakrā; Akrūra’s Praise and the Hastināpura Mission
स तान्नरवरश्रेष्ठानाराद् वीक्ष्य स्वबान्धवान् । प्रत्युत्थाय प्रमुदित: परिष्वज्याभिनन्द्य च ॥ १३ ॥ ननाम कृष्णं रामं च स तैरप्यभिवादित: । पूजयामास विधिवत् कृतासनपरिग्रहान् ॥ १४ ॥
sa tān nara-vara-śreṣṭhān ārād vīkṣya sva-bāndhavān pratyutthāya pramuditaḥ pariṣvajyābhinandya ca
جب اکرور نے دور سے آتے ہوئے اپنے رشتہ داروں اور نر-شریشٹھ اُن عظیم ہستیوں کو دیکھا تو خوشی سے کھڑا ہو گیا۔ اُنہیں گلے لگا کر خیرمقدم کیا، پھر شری کرشن اور بلرام کو پرنام کیا؛ اور اُنہوں نے بھی اسے جواباً سلام کیا۔ بعد ازاں جب مہمان آسن پر بیٹھ گئے تو اکرور نے شاستری طریقے کے مطابق اُن کی پوجا کی۔
Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī points out that Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the others approached Akrūra in a friendly attitude. At first Akrūra reciprocated that friendly mood, and then, in the course of showing them hospitality, he adopted his natural devotional attitude toward the Lord and thus offered his obeisances to Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Śrī Balarāma.
This verse shows proper Vaiṣṇava etiquette—rising to receive, embracing, and greeting with joy—especially when honoring exalted persons connected to the Lord.
Akrura recognized Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma as the foremost among men and also as his own dear kinsmen, so he expressed reverence and affection through traditional gestures of welcome.
Cultivate humility and warmth: stand up to greet, offer respectful words, and show sincere care when meeting devotees, elders, and family—especially those devoted to God.
