उग्रसेनसुत: कंस: स्वसु: प्रियचिकीर्षया । रश्मीन् हयानां जग्राह रौक्मै रथशतैर्वृत: ॥ ३० ॥
ugrasena-sutaḥ kaṁsaḥ svasuḥ priya-cikīrṣayā raśmīn hayānāṁ jagrāha raukmai ratha-śatair vṛtaḥ
اُگرا سین کا بیٹا کنس، اپنی بہن دیوکی کو خوش کرنے کے لیے، گھوڑوں کی باگیں خود تھام کر سارَتھی بنا۔ وہ سینکڑوں سنہری رتھوں سے گھرا ہوا تھا۔
To outwardly show affection and honor to his sister Devakī—he wanted to please her, even while his inner nature would soon turn hostile due to fear of the prophecy.

External politeness and grand display can hide inner motives; the Bhagavatam urges sincerity, self-examination, and taking shelter of dharma and devotion rather than fear-driven actions.
