Related Themes: Agni Purana 375.1 (samādhi definition: Self-only shining); Agni Purana 374 (dhāraṇā practices leading to steadiness)
It gives a technical marker of yogic attainment: the yogin whose mind is firmly fixed and whose posture and attention remain unwavering—likened to a steady flame without wind—is defined as samādhi-stha (established in samādhi).
Alongside ritual, governance, and other sciences, the Agni Purana also codifies yoga terminology and experiential criteria (e.g., what counts as samādhi), showing its broad, reference-like coverage of spiritual disciplines.
It emphasizes inner steadiness and one-pointedness as the hallmark of deep contemplation; such samādhi-oriented discipline is traditionally understood to purify mental fluctuations and support liberation-oriented practice.
