FAQs

It prescribes a three-night regulated fast followed by a Mahāmṛtyuñjaya (tryambaka) homa using pāyasa-caru, completing exactly 100 oblations.

It records a precise, count-based Vedic-Tantric ritual protocol (fasting, consecration of caru, fixed number of āhutis, specific ṛc-mantra), exemplifying the text’s practical manual-like coverage of worship and expiation.

The regulated fast and Mahāmṛtyuñjaya homa are traditionally aimed at purification, removal of afflictions, and protection of life/health through Śiva-Rudra’s grace.
