FAQs

It points to graha-śānti-ādi-vidhi—formal ritual procedures for pacifying adverse planetary influences—presented as an effective, transmissible method (here bestowed by Bṛhaspati to Indra).

It illustrates the Agni Purana’s inclusion of applied jyotiṣa and śānti-karmas (remedial rites), integrating mythic narrative (Indra, Bṛhaspati, Raji’s sons) with practical ritual technology used for protection, stabilization, and auspicious outcomes.

Graha-śānti rites are framed as purificatory and protective acts that mitigate karmic/astrological afflictions, restoring order (dharma) and reducing disruptive forces through sanctioned ritual means.
