سام وید کی ایک شاخ ‘کَوثُم’ کے نام سے معروف ہے اور دوسری ‘آتھروَṇاینی’ ہے۔ سامن کے گیتوں کے بھی چار مجموعے ہیں؛ اور اسی طرح وید کا ‘آرَṇیک’ (جنگلی/بن کا رسالہ) بھی موجود ہے۔
