FAQs

It gives an Ayurvedic formulation method: administering milk medicated by a herbal decoction (vidārī–kuśa–kāśa–ikṣu), and preparing medicated ghee processed with kuṣmāṇḍa juice and yaṣṭimadhu.

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical health-knowledge—specific recipes, dosage measures (droṇa), and processing methods (saṃskṛta) typical of classical Ayurvedic compendia.

By framing bodily care through dharmic scripture, the text treats health-preserving regimens as supportive of disciplined life (dharma, study, worship), where maintaining vitality is part of sustaining righteous practice.
