FAQs

It enumerates specific upacāras (incense, lamp, cloth, garland, perfume) and classifies certain offerings (pāyasa, madya, tila, māṣa) by technical categories and counts (threefold/fourfold), useful for standardized pūjā and dāna procedures.

Beyond narrative theology, it preserves a practical taxonomy of ritual materials—class labels, item-names, and quantitative typologies—showing the text’s handbook-like cataloging of worship protocol, gifts, and food-offerings.

Offering properly specified upacāras and dāna items is presented as a merit-generating act (puṇya) that supports purification, ritual correctness, and the devotional completion of worship.
