Related Themes: Agni Purana 286 (netra-roga and añjana context)
It teaches an Ayurvedic netra-pariṣeka (therapeutic eye irrigation) formula using pippalī, rice, oil, mādhvīka, and honey, described as dīpanīya—stimulating/clarifying ocular function.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied sciences like Ayurveda, giving concrete, recipe-like therapeutic instructions (here, ophthalmic care), demonstrating its wide-ranging, practical compendium style.
While primarily medical, such Purāṇic health-instructions are framed as dharmic self-care—supporting bodily clarity (including vision) that aids purity, daily duties, and sustained capacity for worship and right conduct.
