FAQs

It teaches practical Ayurvedic therapeutics: (1) the vardhamāna (titrated) pippalī regimen, (2) harītakī taken with jaggery, and (3) a medicated ghṛta prepared with paṭola, triphalā, and pungent drugs—i.e., dosage strategy plus specific formulations.

Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana preserves applied sciences: here it records classical Ayurvedic pharmacy (ghṛta-sādhana) and regimen-based therapy (vardhamāna dosing), showing its role as a compendium of practical knowledge.

While primarily medical, such guidance supports dharma by preserving health and fitness for daily duties, ritual observance, and disciplined living—health (ārogya) being treated as a foundation for right conduct.
