Purity is operationalized as maintainable practice: water functions as a universal, accessible purifier for common household and ascetic materials, reinforcing cleanliness as dharmic discipline.
This is ācāra material (rules of śauca), a didactic layer typical of Purāṇas but not directly one of the pañcalakṣaṇa categories.
Water (ambu) symbolizes both physical cleansing and moral clarity; prescribing it for items spanning agriculture (grain), ritual/ascetic use (ajina, valkala), and daily life (clothes) integrates sacred order into ordinary routines.
