चिराय यत्कृतं सौम्य चिरमस्मिन् दुःखितः । गाथाश्चाप्यब्रवीद्विद्वान्गौतमो मुनिसत्तमः
cirāya yatkṛtaṃ saumya ciramasmin duḥkhitaḥ | gāthāścāpyabravīdvidvāngautamo munisattamaḥ
“Mahal kong anak, sapagkat naantala ang ginawa, matagal akong nanatiling nagdadalamhati.” Sa gayon, si Gautama na marunong, pinakadakila sa mga muni, ay bumigkas din ng mga taludtod (gāthā).
