अविदस्तत्त्वतः सत्यं शपथेनाभिलंघयेत् । महर्षिभिश्च देवैश्च सत्यार्थाः शपथाः कृताः
avidastattvataḥ satyaṃ śapathenābhilaṃghayet | maharṣibhiśca devaiśca satyārthāḥ śapathāḥ kṛtāḥ
Ang hindi tunay na nakaaalam ng mga pangyayari ay maaaring lumihis sa katotohanan sa pag-asa sa panunumpa. Kaya’t ang mga dakilang rishi at ang mga deva ay nagtatag ng mga sumpa upang itaguyod ang katotohanan lamang.
