इति जपः गोमेदनामा प्लक्षोस्ति सुरम्यो यस्य च्छायया । मोदोवृद्धिं गतं लौल्याद्गोमेदं द्वीपमुच्यते
iti japaḥ gomedanāmā plakṣosti suramyo yasya cchāyayā | modovṛddhiṃ gataṃ laulyādgomedaṃ dvīpamucyate
“Ganyan ang japa (pagbigkas ng mantra).” May isang kaaya-ayang punong plakṣa na tinatawag na Gomeda; sa lilim nito, ang galak ay lumalago dahil sa matamis na pagkagiliw—kaya ang pulo’y tinawag na Gomeda-dvīpa.
