शोकात्केचिदुरो जघ्नुः शिरो जघ्नुश्च केचन । हा राजपुत्र हा तात क्वासि क्वासीति बभ्रमुः
śokātkeciduro jaghnuḥ śiro jaghnuśca kecana | hā rājaputra hā tāta kvāsi kvāsīti babhramuḥ
Sa tindi ng pighati, ang ilan ay sinasaktan ang sariling dibdib, at ang iba’y hinahampas ang ulo; sumisigaw sila, “Ay, prinsipe! Ay, anak ko! Nasaan ka—nasaan ka?” at pagala-galang naliligalig.
