Liṅga-pratiṣṭhāvidhiḥ — Installation Standards and Auspicious Parameters for Liṅga Worship
कुंभस्नानं मंत्रदीक्षां मातृकान्यासमेव च । ब्राह्मणः सत्यपूतात्मा गुरुर्ज्ञानी विशिष्यते
kuṃbhasnānaṃ maṃtradīkṣāṃ mātṛkānyāsameva ca | brāhmaṇaḥ satyapūtātmā gururjñānī viśiṣyate
Ang nagsagawa ng banal na kumbha-bath, tumanggap ng mantra-dīkṣā, at nagsanay ng Mātṛkā-nyāsa (paglalagay ng mga titik na Mātṛkā)—ang gayong brāhmaṇa, na ang kalooban ay nalinis ng katotohanan, ay nagiging natatangi bilang tunay na Guru, isang nakaaalam ng karunungang espirituwal.

Significance: Frames the ‘inner tīrtha’ of purification and authorization: bathing rite, mantra-dīkṣā, and mātṛkā-nyāsa culminate in eligibility to guide others as guru.

It defines the marks of an authentic Shaiva teacher: ritual purity and discipline (kumbha-snāna), authorized transmission of mantra (dīkṣā), inner yogic-sacred embodiment through nyāsa, and above all truth-purified character—making one fit to guide others toward Shiva-realization.
Mantra-dīkṣā and mātṛkā-nyāsa are preparatory and empowering practices for proper Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-pūjā—because they align the practitioner’s body-speech-mind as a consecrated support for Shiva’s presence and mantra-śakti.
It points to receiving Panchākṣara (or other Shaiva) mantra-dīkṣā from a qualified Guru and performing nyāsa (installation of sacred syllables) with truthfulness and purity as the foundation of all practice.
