The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
पूजनान्ते सदा कार्यं दासैरेनः क्षमापनम् । प्रसीद परमेशानि जगदानन्ददायिनि
pūjanānte sadā kāryaṃ dāsairenaḥ kṣamāpanam | prasīda parameśāni jagadānandadāyini
Sa pagtatapos ng pagsamba, ang deboto ay dapat laging magsagawa ng pagsisisi at paghingi ng tawad sa anumang pagkukulang. O Parameśānī, Kataas-taasang Ginang, mahabag Ka; O tagapagkaloob ng ligaya sa daigdig, masiyahan Ka.

Significance: Kṣamāpanam at the end of pūjā is a key devotional safeguard: it neutralizes inadvertent aparādha and aligns the paśu with the path of grace (anugraha).

It teaches that worship is completed not merely by offerings but by humility—acknowledging possible mistakes and seeking grace (prasāda). In Shaiva Siddhanta, this softens ego and opens the devotee to the Lord’s and the Goddess’s compassion.
In Saguna worship (including Linga-puja), formal rites are concluded with kṣamāpanā—asking pardon for lapses in mantra, mudrā, purity, or attention—so the act becomes devotion-centered rather than performance-centered.
Perform a brief kṣamāpanā prayer at the end of pūjā—mentally reviewing faults in body, speech, and mind and offering them into devotion—then request the Devi’s/Śiva’s grace to sanctify the worship.
