Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
Suta Goswami (narrating the Uma-saṃhitā teaching to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It exalts nāma-japa as a direct, accessible sādhana, teaching that devotion expressed through the divine Name yields immeasurable merit and spiritual upliftment, culminating in grace (anugraha) from Pati (Śiva) through Śakti’s compassionate mediation.
Nāma-japa functions as a Saguna upāsanā: the Name invokes the personal Lord and can accompany Liṅga-pūjā, strengthening bhakti and inner recollection (smaraṇa) even when elaborate ritual is not possible.
Regular mantra/nāma-japa—especially of Śiva’s Name and Devī’s Name—done with purity, steadiness, and devotion; it may be paired with simple Shaiva observances like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as supportive disciplines.
