Account of Sarasvatī’s Manifestation and the Humbling of the Devas

It declares that a Shaiva sacred narrative is not mere story: when heard with devotion and grasped with right understanding (vijñāna), it becomes a means to the highest goal—moksha, the supreme state attained by the grace and truth of Pati (Shiva).
By urging devoted listening to Shiva’s charitra, it supports the Purana’s method of approaching Saguna Shiva—through narrative, praise, and remembrance—which ripens into inner understanding that leads beyond forms to the highest realization.
The implied practice is śravaṇa (devout listening) and mananā (reflective contemplation) of Shiva-kathā; this can be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” as a focused discipline to internalize the teaching.
