तस्येकोभूत्सुतः श्रेष्ठः प्रयातिर्धर्मवित्तथा । इति श्रुतं मया व्यासात्तत्प्रोक्तं हि समासतः
tasyekobhūtsutaḥ śreṣṭhaḥ prayātirdharmavittathā | iti śrutaṃ mayā vyāsāttatproktaṃ hi samāsataḥ
May iisa siyang anak na lalaki—tunay na dakila—na ang pangalan ay Prayāti, at siya rin ay nakaaalam ng dharma. Ganyan ang narinig ko mula kay Vyāsa; at ang salaysay na iyon ay sinabi ko ngayon nang maikli.
