Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Affirms Śiva-bhakti performed with proper kāla-niyama (right timing/observance) as leading to brahma-prāpti (liberating realization) and as a purifier even of mahāpātakas; encourages pilgrimage/vrata with correct observance.
Role: liberating
It teaches that sincere Shaiva observance, done in the right spirit and discipline, leads to realization of the Supreme (Brahman) and burns away even grave karmic impurities through Shiva’s grace.
In the Uma Samhita’s Shaiva framework, devotion to Saguna Shiva (often through Linga-upasana with proper vrata and timing) becomes the means by which the devotee is purified and led toward the highest Brahman-realization.
The verse points to disciplined observance according to proper sacred timing (kāla)—i.e., vrata, puja, japa, and meditation performed with rule and devotion—so that purification and liberation arise by Shiva’s grace.
