Account of the Pippalāda Avatāra
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Naṭarāja
It portrays sacred joy (ānanda) arising when the divine order is restored and the gods rejoice—an outer sign of inner devotion, where celebration becomes an offering aligned with Shiva’s auspicious presence.
Though the Linga is not named here, the verse reflects Saguna worship culture in the Purana: music, dance, and communal utsava are accepted as devotional upacāras offered to Shiva’s manifest, gracious form.
It suggests bhakti expressed through kīrtana-like praise and joyful worship; a practical takeaway is to perform Shiva-utsava with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) along with reverent offerings.
