After Śiva’s Messenger Departs: Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Counsel with Tulasī and Readiness for War
A commander/leader in the battle narrative of the Yuddhakhaṇḍa, issuing orders under Lord Shiva (Śambhu)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
It emphasizes disciplined action aligned with Śiva’s will: even worldly conflict becomes dharmic when performed as service under the Lord’s command, reflecting Śiva (Pati) as the sovereign guide of all powers.
The verse highlights Saguna Śiva as Śambhu—the personal Lord who governs and directs. Devotion to the Liṅga trains the devotee to offer all actions to Śiva’s authority, turning effort into worship (sevā-bhāva).
Adopt īśvara-arpana (offering actions to Śiva): begin duties with the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and mentally dedicate the act to Śambhu, cultivating obedience, steadiness, and purity of intention.
