Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: The verse teaches non-difference (abheda) between Śiva and Viṣṇu at the level of the Supreme to be worshipped, a Purāṇic harmonization that frames sectarian rivalry as ignorance of the one sevyā (worship-worthy) Lord.
Significance: Encourages ekāgratā (one-pointed worship) and samadarśana (non-sectarian reverence), considered spiritually purifying and conducive to grace.
Type: stotra
It teaches non-difference at the level of the Supreme Lord (Pati): all beings—including the gods—ultimately have one refuge and one object of worship, pointing the seeker toward undivided devotion and liberation.
By declaring the one ever-worshipworthy Lord for all, it supports Linga-worship as a universal, accessible form of Saguna Shiva through which devotees approach the Supreme without sectarian division.
Adopt single-minded Shiva-bhakti: worship the Linga with Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and maintain steady remembrance that the one Lord is the constant refuge for all beings.
