(Description of the Dharma/Conduct of the Bhūta-Tripura) — Chapter 3
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Śravaṇa (attentive hearing) of the deed is framed as sarva-pāpa-praṇāśana—merit through kathā-śravaṇa and śraddhā.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It elevates śravaṇa (reverent listening to sacred deeds) as a purifying discipline: hearing the righteous, divinely oriented act with attention becomes a means for pāpa-kṣaya and inner refinement, preparing the soul (paśu) to turn toward Shiva, the supreme Pati.
The verse frames Purāṇic listening as a devotional gateway: by hearing the narrative with faith, the mind becomes fit for Saguna Shiva worship—such as Linga-pūjā—where devotion and purity are cultivated as steps toward Shiva’s grace.
Attentive śravaṇa of Shiva Purana kathā (especially on auspicious days like Mahashivratri), ideally followed by remembrance and simple worship—reciting the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and maintaining a pure, prayerful mindset.
