स बद्ध्वा घस्मरं दैत्यं पाशेनाभ्यहनद्भुवि । महावीर प्रचंडं च चकर्त्त विशिखेन ह
sa baddhvā ghasmaraṃ daityaṃ pāśenābhyahanadbhuvi | mahāvīra pracaṃḍaṃ ca cakartta viśikhena ha
Itinali niya sa lubid na pāśa ang demonyong si Ghasmara at inihampas ito hanggang bumagsak sa lupa. At sa isang matalim na palasong may tulis, pinabagsak din niya ang makapangyarihang mandirigmang si Pracaṇḍa.

The verse dramatizes the Shaiva Siddhanta theme that adharma and inner enemies are first bound (pāśa—bondage brought under control) and then removed; the Lord’s power restores dharma and protects devotees by subduing destructive forces.
In Saguna worship, Shiva is revered as the active Protector who intervenes in the world; remembering such leelas while worshipping the Liṅga strengthens śaraṇāgati (surrender) and trust in Shiva as Pati, the master of all bonds.
A practical takeaway is to meditate on Shiva as the remover of pāśas (bondage) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” mentally offering one’s fears and impulses into the Liṅga as they are ‘bound and cut’ by divine grace.
