Description of Nārada’s Delusion
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It shows that Rudra’s divine power safeguards sacred purposes through his gaṇas, who work subtly and invisibly; protection of dharma often happens in hidden ways, while the “supreme” (param) truth remains the real aim behind the event.
Rudra’s attendants protecting “that” indicates the sanctity surrounding Shiva’s manifested (saguṇa) presence—whether a sacred site, vow, or emblem of worship—affirming that Shiva’s worship is guarded by divine order even when it is not outwardly seen.
The verse suggests gupta-bhakti (quiet, steady devotion): protect one’s sādhana through discipline, secrecy of mantra-japa when needed, and maintaining purity—supporting practices like japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and regular worship with reverence.
